Welcome to the Child Support Lien Network
Illinois
Illinois Insurance Industry Outreach
We are asking for your participation in an exciting new project that will help the children of Illinois receive more of the child support to which they are entitled. In cooperation with the State of Rhode Island, Illinois is making their delinquent child support obligor information available to insurance companies. This information will be available on a secure Internet website that will allow you easy access when processing insurance claims. The web site was designed, developed and tested in cooperation with an advisory committee of Rhode Island insurance companies and representatives of other insurance companies across the nation. To date, thirteen other states have entered into agreements with Rhode Island to participate in this project. Since the automated match process began in early 2001, liens for past due child support totaling $96 million have been placed.
The enclosed material provides contact information and explains how your company can use this website to assist us in ensuring that child support is paid. This website, which can be accessed at www.childsupportliens.com, contains information about those obligors who owe past due support and will facilitate your company's ability to contact our agency. If one of our obligors has a settlement coming from your company, we may send you a lien notice requesting that you withhold delivery or distribution of funds and contact our Collection and Asset Recovery Unit for further instruction.
I am confident that you will find this web-enabled application to be fast, easy to use and a good fit with your company's existing technology. Your participation will help us ensure that financial support is a reality in many young lives. On behalf of all the children that will benefit from this program, thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Lonnie J. Nasatir, Deputy Administrator
State of Illinois - Division of Child Support Enforcement
