Welcome to the Child Support Lien Network

Colorado

Colorado Insurance Outreach

In response to Colorado House Bill 16-1165, an Act pertaining to insurance claim intercept to help collect past-due child support payments, the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), Division of Child Support Services (DCSS), has partnered with the Child Support Lien Network (CSLN) to facilitate the process of intercepting such payments. Your company has been identified as a non-participating insurer for the State of Colorado.

As you may know, the CSLN program is a national consortium consisting of 1,800 property and casualty insurance members and 31 child support agencies. The CSLN program is a highly effective tool that delivers quality insurance matches through automated data matching solutions. For more than 17 years, this essential public/private partnership has contributed an astounding $1.5 billion in child support to families nationwide.

Working with CSLN is much more efficient and far less intrusive than multiple states making numerous requests for claim information from an insurer's various offices. Because we recognize that your time is valuable, CSLN staff verifies the status of a claim and the identifying information in order to confirm that a true match exists before any claims information is provided to the CSLN member state for further action. On average, less than 1% of claims are impacted by the process.

Your company may already subscribe to this ISO ClaimSearch/CSLN daily match program, either by individual state law or through a voluntary process. Please take this opportunity to either expand your current participation to include the State of Colorado or become a member of the ISO ClaimSearch/CSLN for all states. There is no additional cost to insurers, and your cooperation may even help avoid additional state and federal mandates to do the same.

I strongly encourage your collaboration now to demonstrate good corporate citizenship while helping ensure that families receive the financial support to which they are entitled. To learn more on how your company can expand its membership with the ISO ClaimSearch/CSLN data match program to include Colorado data match or become a new participant, please contact 1-888-240-7488 ext. 200 or visit www.childsupportliens.com.

On behalf of the children of Colorado, who will greatly benefit from this program, I thank you in advance for your support of the insurance claim intercept program. If you have any questions regarding the Insurance Claim Intercept Program, please contact Ann Murray, CSLN Project Manager at amurray@childsupportliens.com or (888) 240-7488.

Sincerely,
Larry Debien
