What Happens Next?
Once
a match is identified, CSLN investigates the claim match and a Notice of Lien
is recorded with the Alabama Secretary of State via the Alabama Child Support
Enforcement Division. When the Secretary of State acknowledges the Notice of
Lien, CSLN sends a Notice of Levy to the Insurance Company to intercept disbursement
of the claimant / obligor’s settlement funds for payment of his/her child
support. CSLN also sends a copy of the Notice of Levy and additional information
regarding due process to the claimant / obligor.
