Indiana What Happens Next?

The Indiana Child Support Bureau (CSB) submits delinquent non-custodial parents (NCP) to the Child Support Lien Network on a regular basis. Once a match is identified, an Income Withholding Order (IWO) is sent by CSLN, as authorized by CSB, to the appropriate insurance company with a copy to the NCP. Indiana law states that the IWO is the legal vehicle by which child support agencies may intercept insurance settlement funds for payment of child support arrearages. The Indiana Central Enforcement Unit is notified of the match and will verify the claim information with the insurance companies. Payments are sent to the Indiana State Central Collection Unit. Insurance companies must comply with the provisions of IC 31-25-4.
