New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated § 161-C:3-f, allows New Hampshire’s Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) to intercept insurance settlement payments claimed by individuals who owe past-due child support and who are subject to a child support lien. To facilitate the process of intercepting such payments, DCSS, along with other state Child Support Agencies around the country, is making its delinquent child support obligor information available to insurance companies through this secure website. Although there are many remedies available for collecting child support, an intercepted insurance settlement may be the only way a family can recover years of unpaid child support.

This website was designed, developed and tested in cooperation with an advisory committee of Rhode Island insurance companies and representatives of other insurance companies across the nation. A pilot test of this website has shown that there is money available from insurance settlements that can be intercepted to repay past-due child support.
