CSLN Meets with NAIC

On March 14, 2004, Mr. Jack Murphy, CSLN Administrator and Mr. George French, CSLN Project Director, met with State Insurance Commissioners at a Commissioners Round Table meeting during their Annual Spring Conference 2004. Their conference was held March 13-16, 2004 in New York City. Mr. Murphy was sponsored by Arkansas Insurance Commissioner, Mr. Mike Pickens, who wrote an article in the “Insurance Journal,” on March 2, 2004, asking for support from our nations’ insurers for the CSLN process.

Mr. Murphy discussed how Insurance Commissioners could greatly assist both property casualty insurers and state child support programs by encouraging the growth of the Child Support Lien Network, CSLN. Mr. Murphy emphasized the need for the insurance commissioners to join in with other agencies in their state to put together a team. He said that building a team comprised of Representatives from the Child Support Enforcement Office, CSLN, and the Insurance Commissioner’s Office will send a message to the insurers in their respective states just how truly awesome the power of a public-private partnership can be as we all work together toward the common goal of assisting children to receive their overdue court ordered child support.
