The Public/Private Partnership of CSLN Continues to Work…
The State of Maine had one particular family case they were diligently working
in conjunction with the State of New Hampshire to collect overdue child support
payments. Various child support enforcement administrative remedies were taken
against a self-employed carpenter in an attempt to collect $15,900 arrears on
the case. License revocation actions, attachment of bank accounts, and the placement
of liens on property only resulted in collections of $4,216. However, notification
of a match by the Child Support Lien Network to a Liberty Mutual Workers Compensation
claim led them to take action against the pending settlement. The remaining
arrears of $11,683 were collected and forwarded to this family in November 2003,
primarily due to the enthusiastic partnership formed between Liberty Mutual
and the Child Support Lien Network.
